Pure Hope Facility Management Pty Ltd is committed to providing a safe and healthy workplace for all employees, contractors, the highest standards of occupational health and safety (OHS) and our approach to continuous improvement in our health and safety performance. Objectives
- To prevent workplace injuries and illnesses.
- To comply with all relevant OHS legislation, regulations, codes of practice and industry standards.
- To foster a culture of safety awareness and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
Responsibilities
Management:
- Provide leadership and resources to implement, maintain and continually improve the OHS management system.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant OHS legislation and standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and implement control measures to mitigate identified risks.
- Provide training, information, and supervision to ensure employees are competent in their roles and aware of their OHS responsibilities.
- Promote open communication and consultation with employees on OHS matters.
Employees:
- Follow all safety procedures and instructions.
- Use equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Report any hazards, incidents, or near misses to their supervisor immediately.
- Participate in OHS training and initiatives.
- Contribute to creating a safe and healthy work environment.
Contractors and Visitors:
- Comply with all OHS policies and procedures while on site.
- Report any safety concerns or incidents to a Pure Hope Facility Management Pty Ltd representative.
Key Elements of the OHS Management System
1. Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and control workplace hazards.
- Regularly review risk assessments and control measures to ensure their effectiveness.
2. Training and Competence:
- Provide OHS training for all employees.
- Ensure employees are competent in their roles and understand their OHS responsibilities.
3. Incident Reporting and Investigation:
- Implement a clear process for reporting and investigating incidents, near misses, and hazards.
- Take corrective actions to prevent recurrence and improve safety practices.
4. Health and Wellbeing:
- Promote initiatives to support the physical and mental health of employees.
- Provide resources and support for employees to maintain their health and wellbeing.
5. Consultation and Communication:
- Encourage active participation and feedback from employees on OHS matters.
- Facilitate regular OHS meetings and discussions to share information and address concerns.
6. Emergency Preparedness:
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans.
- Conduct regular drills and training to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
Review and Continuous Improvement:
This OHS policy will be reviewed annually or more frequently if required to ensure it remains relevant and effective. Feedback from employees, changes in legislation, and developments in industry best practices will be considered in the review process.
